ExamCreator Privacy Policy (Android)

1. Summary

ExamCreator for Android has no user accounts and no BridgeAIWorks server. Your question bank, exams, source material, API key, and local usage records stay on your device. BridgeAIWorks does not receive or store this information, does not use analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not track you.

The one exception is an optional AI request: when you deliberately choose an AI provider and tap the control to generate content, the material selected for that request is sent directly from your device to that provider under your own provider account. It does not pass through BridgeAIWorks. Google Play treats data transmitted off-device as data collection for its Data safety form even where the developer does not receive it, so this policy describes that transfer plainly.

2. Information BridgeAIWorks collects

BridgeAIWorks collects no personal data from ExamCreator Android users. There is no sign-up, login, BridgeAIWorks account, BridgeAIWorks cloud sync, analytics, crash-reporting SDK, advertising SDK, or BridgeAIWorks server that receives your exams, questions, source documents, usage records, or API key.

Google Play distribution, installation, purchases, subscription management, and refunds are handled by Google under its own terms. BridgeAIWorks does not receive or store your payment-card details, Google account information, or a purchase-verification record from an ExamCreator server, because ExamCreator does not operate such a server.

2A. Android network-state permission

ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE is a normal Android permission added by a Google library to determine whether your device is online. It only reports network state and does not itself read network traffic.

3. Where your work is stored

Your question bank, exams, drafts, imported documents, images, generated PDFs, and settings are stored locally in ExamCreator's private Android app storage. There is no account and no cloud sync or cloud backup operated by BridgeAIWorks. Your work is not copied to a BridgeAIWorks system or shared between devices unless you export it yourself.

The Android build marks your local ExamCreator data, including your question bank, exams, drafts, and imported source documents and images, as eligible for Android device backup. That backup is controlled by your Google account and device backup settings, not by BridgeAIWorks. We do not operate, access, or guarantee restoration from it. Your API key and free export counter are excluded from Android backup.

Text extraction from source material uses an on-device ML Kit component. Images and documents are not sent to BridgeAIWorks for that step.

4. AI providers - bring your own key

AI features are optional and remain inactive until you enter your own API key for a provider you choose. ExamCreator does not provide, resell, proxy, or receive AI credits, and BridgeAIWorks never sees your key.

Where the key is kept. Your API key is stored in Android Keystore-backed secure storage on your device. It is never transmitted to BridgeAIWorks.

What is sent, and to whom. Only after you initiate a generation request, ExamCreator sends the material needed for that request directly to the selected provider. Depending on the feature, this may include an outline or key points, text extracted on your device from PDFs you supply and from images of course material you photograph or import, exam questions, and requested solutions. The image or document file itself is not sent. Supported choices may include OpenAI, Google Gemini, or a local endpoint you operate yourself, such as Ollama or LM Studio. A genuinely local endpoint does not send the request to BridgeAIWorks; whether it leaves your own device or network depends on the endpoint you configure.

Provider handling. Content sent to a provider is governed by that provider's terms, privacy practices, retention settings, and your account settings. BridgeAIWorks cannot access, retrieve, correct, or delete content held by a provider. Removing the key in Settings stops future requests but does not remove material already sent. If material should not go to a third party, do not use it as source material for AI generation; manual writing and editing remain available without an AI request.

5. Photos and documents

ExamCreator does not request broad camera, photo, or media-library permissions. If you choose an image or document, Android's system picker gives the app access only to the item you selected for that action. Text extraction then runs on your device. The selected item stays on your device. If you then initiate an AI request as described in Section 4, only the text extracted from it is sent to the provider; the image or document file itself is not.

ExamCreator's text recognition is used only on course material you supply yourself, to extract text as a basis for generating questions. ExamCreator does not recognise, collect, or process student answers.

6. Purchases and the local free allowance

Any Google Play purchase or subscription is sold, billed, restored, renewed, managed, and refunded through Google Play. BridgeAIWorks does not receive payment-card details or Google account information from an ExamCreator server.

To apply the free allowance, ExamCreator stores an export or usage counter only in encrypted app-private preferences on your device. The counter is excluded from Android backup and is not transmitted to BridgeAIWorks or an AI provider. Because it is in Android app-private storage, uninstalling ExamCreator clears that counter together with the app's local container.

7. Analytics, tracking, and advertising

ExamCreator embeds no third-party analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDK and does not use the Android Advertising ID for tracking or build advertising or behavioural profiles. Two Google libraries it requires - ML Kit for on-device text recognition and the Google Play Billing Library - include Google's diagnostic reporting. Recognition itself runs on your device, and your images and text are not uploaded for it. That reporting is operated by Google under Google's privacy policy; BridgeAIWorks receives nothing from it and cannot disable it.

8. Retention and deletion

BridgeAIWorks holds no ExamCreator user data, so there is nothing for us to retain, export, or delete on your behalf. You control local content: delete individual questions, exams, drafts, and documents in the app, clear app data in Android settings, or uninstall the app. Resetting app data, uninstalling the app, or losing a device can remove local work and the encrypted free-allowance counter. Your local ExamCreator data, including your question bank, exams, drafts, and imported source documents and images, may be restored only when Android backup is available under your Google account and device settings; BridgeAIWorks cannot access or guarantee that process. Export important work regularly. Remove an API key in Settings before uninstalling if you want it removed from secure storage.

Content already sent to an AI provider is outside BridgeAIWorks' control. Use that provider's account controls or contact the provider for its retention and deletion options.

9. Children and students

ExamCreator is a tool for teachers and other exam authors. It is not directed at children and does not ask for or collect information about students. Exams you create may be given to students, but that content remains on your device unless you choose to send selected material to an AI provider.

10. Third-party components

ExamCreator may include open-source typesetting software and open-licensed fonts to produce printable papers offline. These components operate on your device and do not send your content to BridgeAIWorks.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the Last updated date will change. We will describe material changes on this page.
